Notice is hereby given that the next Annual General Meeting of Halifax Canoe Club Limited will be held on Saturday 10th February 2024 at 7:00pm at Sowerby Bridge Cricket Club, Walton Street, Sowerby Bridge, HX6 1AN (Map).
Please arrive promptly so we can begin at 7:15pm.

Nominations for Election to Vacant Committee Posts
Each AGM we need to elect part of the committee who run our club for you. Nominations are invited for members willing to stand for the following posts which are for a term of 2 years:
- Secretary
- Vice Chair
- Welfare
- Marketing
- Volunteering
- Health and safety
- Events
Please consider if you could help run your club by taking on one of these roles.

Nominations must be sent to the Club Secretary (Bob Lawler) at the club address (Halifax Canoe Club, Greenups Mill, Wharf Street, Sowerby Bridge, HX6 2AQ) by Saturday 19th January 2024 or via email to secretary@halifaxcanoe.org.uk.
Nominations received by this deadline will be posted in the Club House from Saturday 27 th January 2024.
Agenda Items
Club Members are welcome to put items on the agenda for the meeting. Any items for the agenda must be received by the Club Secretary on or before Saturday 27th January 2024.

The agenda for the meeting will be displayed on the notice board in the Club House and on the club’s website from Saturday 27th January 2024.
Appointment of Proxy Voters
This is to appoint another adult member of the club to vote on your behalf if you are unable to attend the meeting. If you wish to nominate someone to vote on your behalf, you must return the completed form, signed, to the Club Secretary (at the above address) to arrive no later than 7pm on Thursday 8th February 2024. Awards and Social
As usual, the AGM will be followed by the annual presentation of awards and a social. We are currently arranging our events for the evening. The cricket club’s bar will be open throughout. There will minimal paperwork and maximum fun. Everyone is welcome!
Buffet
To help the social along we usually have some food and members are asked to help out by bringing along contributions. Bob Lawler is co-ordinating this, so please contact him for more details: secretary@halifaxcanoe.org.uk, or to let him know what you can offer (a list of suggestions in included with this letter). (Please note this will be a cold buffet). If you are attending the meeting it would also be helpful if you could contact let us know by registering via our online membership system, so we have some idea of how many people we will need to feed
