Summer Coached sessions
We will have summer coached sessions (8 week blocks) running at the club in Sowerby Bridge for late April.
Full details will be available on webcollect shortly but will include:
Thursdays
- Adult ‘Learn to Paddle’ Course
- Junior Intermediates Course
- Adult ‘Learn to Paddle’ Course
- Adults Intermediate Course
Additionally we have the following sessions that can be booked each week:
- Tuesday – Slalom training – a coached session for those that are or will be racing regularly in canoe slalom events.
- Wednesday – Club Wednesdays – a peer paddling session for those that are competent on the water (usually paddling on the white water at the club). This is not a coached session, but we have coaches on hand to support the session to and help anyone that needs a bit of support.
We also intend to have a programme of weekend paddling opportunities through the summer
New to paddling?
You should take our ‘Learn To Paddle’ Course – these runs for 8 weeks. These will be Thursdays and Saturdays and starting in late April – come along to our sign up night to find out more.
We aim to have futher courses in June as well, including a course for younger paddlers when the weather is warmer. We’ll release dates nearer the time.
Already know how to paddle and want to refine your skills?
Join one of our intermediate courses, or come along to Club Wednesday (on white water), or our weekend sessions.
How do I sign up with HXCC?
This can be done at our sign up night on Tuesday 16th April at Hollins Mill (details above).
To come on our courses and sessions you need to be a member of the club. Your annual membership fee includes the cost of all river courses and also the cost of using our equipment (boats, safety gear etc.) We offer reduced rates for families, concessions rates and junior rates – please take a look at our membership options HERE.
